Topsy joined Fleet as a paralegal in 2020 after completing her LPC and MSc in Law Business and Management at the University of Law in Leeds graduating with Distinction.

In 2026 Topsy qualified as a solicitor completing the SQE2 and finishing in the top 20% of candidates.

Topsy specialises in property and private client disputes. Topsy has worked on a number of complex and interesting cases including, adverse possession, boundary disputes, objecting to applications to amend the title plan, and claims under Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975. Much of her property work is focused on Land Registry applications and proceedings before the First-tier Tribunal.

Notable cases:

  • Helping a client gain title to a parcel of registered land enclosed as part of their garden. The matter was referred up the First-Tier Tribunal.
  • Helping a client gain title to a room of their house through adverse possession. The room was on the ground floor and had not been included as part of their title when they bought the property over 20 years ago.
  • Helping a client successfully gain possession of an unregistered pathway that ran alongside their property.
  • Helping a client successfully gain title to a section of unregistered land which formed part of their garden. They only discovered the issue when trying to sell the property. An application to expedite to ensure their application was dealt with as quickly as possible was a key.
  • Helping a client successfully gain title to an area of woodland which they used as part of their garden.
  • Helping a client gain title to the attic space above their flat.
  • Helping a client gain title to a farm track over which they had a right of way.
  • Assisting on a claim under Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 which settled in the clients favour at mediation.

Before deciding to pursue a legal career Topsy studied a BA of Fine Art and History Joint Honours at Aberystwyth University, two subjects she continues to enjoy outside of work.
